Going On The Road

There’s some exciting news I’d like to share with you.

At the end of August, I’ll be making a temporary move to Scottsdale,
Arizona to train full-time as a CrossFit athlete, under my coach,
James ’OPT’ Fitzgerald.

As someone who has dreamed of training as a professional athlete
in this sport, since finding it over 5 years ago, this is an opportunity I
just can not let pass me by.

The move is only temporary; the community we’ve built here is too great,
and means too much, to not call it home and make my way back.  Being
there, I will not only be able to train with other high-level athletes, but will
have the medicinal, structural, and coaching support needed to reach my
potential.

While in Scottsdale, I will have access to a huge knowledge base, plenty of
opportunity to learn the most up-to-date techniques and ideas on fitness
training. Concepts that all of us at WCSC will get to be a part of, helping us
all get fitter and healthier long term.

I will be regularly traveling back to WCSC.  Expect to see me every 4-6 weeks.
And I will continue to be in constant contact with you, staying up to date on how
you’re all doing.

Again, the move is a couple months out, but I wanted to give you all a heads
up. I’m bummed I will not get to see many of your faces every week,
but Iike I said, I’ll be back often, and probably be back in Ventura to stay
sooner than later.

    Congratulations!!! That is just EPIC…WCSC won’t be the same without you while your gone but we are all 100% behind this stepping stone on your way to the 2013 Games.

    This is so awesome Colin! I can’t help but cry a little though. I am going to miss you and Megan a bunch! You have to go train with Scottsdale swim club some time; that is where my old coach is (I think).
    You deserve this and will be unstoppable; congratulations!

    Happy and sad…SO happy you get to do this. What a dream come true! It will be so exciting seeing your progress. But, Sad that I won’t hang out every morning with you and be there to watch you suffer through your endless rows or AD sessions and hear about your latest plans to make millions. But really, let’s get to the real issue…you’re taking Megan away and that’s just mean. ;-) Love you guys!
